The coolest Art Deco electric bread toaster from the1920s “The Sweetheart”, invented by George Curtiss, was the crème de la crème of early electric toasters.

It worked by pressing the buttons on the base of the toaster which would swing the baskets holderes out so the bread could be rotated to toast both sides.
